The first thing you notice when you pop the cap is the smell of grapefruit. It smells fantastic even before you start to drink it!

I’ve been working on changing some of my emotional and mental triggers that make me think negative thoughts or simply become irritable. With a gazillion children, a busy life, and no time for fun with my wife or friends, it’s easy to go into a negative spiral and blame everyone around you.

One thing that I’ve been playing with is a daily question that I have automatically texted to myself. It asks me at around 9pm every night, “Am I in a better mood than yesterday?” If I notice a few days in a row where the answer is No, I need to change something. If I have a few days where the answer is Yes, I think about what I’ve been doing differently to make for a better mood. In many instances, it is one of the 20 things listed below…

Do you ever have one of those days when you realize that something you used to use all the time, you completely forgot about?

I can think of a couple of things that were a major part of my life that are simply forgotten. The paper dictionary AND The Operator! Google is killing everything! lol.

When was the last time I dialed ’0′? I can’t even recall!  It has probably been 10 years since I’ve even thought to dial ’0′. So, today I did it!

I dialed The Operator. I was a bit nervous, like I was doing something bad. The phone rang on the other end. I was fully expecting a computer voice to answer and guide me through the dozens of options available, but to my surprise a real person answered!

Woah.

I asked her what services The Operator provided? She said, “assistance with dialing”, like I was a dolt.

Now I know why I haven’t needed to dial The Operator. My years of dialing experience…I don’t need help anymore. The same can’t be said for my spelling…

I took a few minutes to do some screen shots of the refreshed interface. One of the nice new features is the ability to use a swiping gesture to go back to your main menu. All in all a very nice update. The only thing missing is the location alerts that Apple Reminders uses.

Here is a nice shot of your entire week of reminders. Nicely organized. You also have additional icons for showing your tags, locations, doing a search, and doing a manual refresh to the server. At the bottom left is the Add icon.

Once you select the list, your list looks like this. From here you can swipe the Today area, to go back. As well, just as before you can select the Edit icon to select a task or multiple tasks.

Once you hit Edit, you now have a few more options than before. With this release you can now edit the Due Date, Priority, edit which list it’s in, or edit the tags! Just like the Web interface now.

One of the best things about using RTM on your iPhone or iPad is the ability to add a task at lightening speeds. All the other Task Managers out there let you enter in your task, but take you to different screens to add tags (if they even offer that), or a due date. With RTM’s Add Task field you can see that you have instant access to add a due date, level of importance, tag, add location,whether the task repeats, and how long the task will take. This feature is quite simply the main reason I never move to other Task Managers.

Finally, for those that follow Getting Things Done (GTD), by David Allen, the new interface offers nice access to your various lists by simply tapping on the lists icon. This is a piece of my many lists. You can scroll up and down to get to your list, and tapping on it takes you right to it.

My ONLY wish, other than my location services feature I mentioned above that I wish, is for Remember the Milk to integrate this beautiful update to their Web interface! The website hasn’t changed in years, and it is way overdue for a makeover!

Now, the Environment Minister is suggesting that people outside of Canada that fund Canadian environmental groups are money laundering! WTF? Seriously?

It is OK for foreign ‘investors’ to bring in big money to help extract our natural resources, and the Conservatives are welcoming this foreign money. But the moment people question our poor environmental record and send money to legitimate environmental groups to fight and oppose things like the environmentally crippling tar sands, they are doing something criminal?

What a crock of shit.

“Some charitable environmental groups in Canada are “laundering” funds from offshore donors to obstruct Canada’s environmental assessment process, Environment Minister Peter Kent says.

Kent made the comment Tuesday in a wide-ranging interview on CBC’s Power & Politics when asked by host Evan Solomon to clarify a comment he made earlier on CBC Radio’s The House.

In The House interview that aired Saturday, Kent said the government has been concerned charitable agencies have been used “to launder offshore foreign funds for inappropriate use against Canadian interest.”
