When Would I Go if I had a Time Machine?

I have always hated these type of questions! When and where would you go if you had a time machine. I think I would ruin my chances from my in-decisiveness. Honestly, would I go back to a time when I could save the world from some evil doer? Would I go back to change something that didn’t go as planned in my own life? Would I go into the future to see a possible future for my kids? Fffffffffffffffffffuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu! I can’t decide…
Thinking about it, I don’t think I am talented or gutsy enough go back in time and really change history. You know, kill Hitler, stop the assassination of a political figure, do the big things that change the world. I’d like to think I can, but it would be a wasted opportunity, and I’d probably fuck it up…I also hate that people come up with way better answers to this question and sound so ethical or moral. You know, go back and save the planet, invent some cool thing that would revolutionize life as we know it. Too damn smart for me…
I’d be more inclined to go back to the beginning of life on earth and see trilobites swimming in the oceans, see what life was like during the Cambrian explosion, witness life during the mesozoic era. Maybe go back and re-live meeting my fiancée, and falling in love. I would be just as inclined though to go back to a couple of days before the last big lottery and buy that winning ticket!
Actually, it would be wicked to see the beginning of the universe, in SUPER SLOW MOTION…

Maybe I should watch Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure again to get more ideas…lol. Thanks for the suggestion Lindsay!

  1. I must be a really selfish horrible person! My first thought on reading the topic was that I would want to go back and witness the stuff I study… hmm, not just selfish, but also sad and geeky…

Or possibly I’d go and rescue medieval manuscripts from fires, but is that selfish too? I’d be tempted to keep them, at least, just a little one 😉 but I’d most likely share them with the world. For a certain sum of money… some of those babies are worth an absolute mint! But with the condition that they had to be available for study, so not totally selfish.

But no heroic assassination attempts! Mind you, you mess with the space-time continuum at your peril… I read a novel where someone killed Hitler, only to find the world got a heck of a lot worse as a consequence.

  2. haha! My thoughts exactly. I am not brave or stupid enough to go try and shoot heavily armed/guarded political leaders. I’ve never even fired a gun…

Thanks for checking out my blog and leaving a comment… 🙂
