I am enjoying this experiment. Blogging and exercising everyday. The truth is out of the bag though with my fiancée. I missed exercising yesterday. She sounded disappointed…Another ‘secret’ is that I have been a day ahead of myself with my blog posts, but not everyday. Some days I’m having to post the same day because I’m busy or not motivated. Have I failed? No…Here’s why…
Today I got on the stationary bike to ride, but instead of doing 20 to 30 minutes, I doubled up and did an hour and 10 minutes. Not a big deal, as I mountain bike usually longer than that, but my legs had extra energy from resting. I had a fantastic , hard workout. Success! By making a habit to exercise everyday, I have more energy and fitness. Missing a day is no longer a big deal! I would fester about not exercising because I wasn’t doing it enough. I was always upset at myself for not getting out more often. Always waiting for some vague time later in the week to go for a ride. But now the habit is there.
The same thing goes for blogging. I was always reading and scanning articles and blog posts in the hopes of finding something to write about. The Postaday2011 challenge has taught me that getting into the habit of writing everyday will make blogging easier. If I miss an evening post, the next day something just comes to me. Why? Because my brain is now thinking about blogging everyday, even when I’m not! Writing is also becoming more natural. The habit is there too…
If I could only get into the habit of sticking to one topic on my blog, instead of rambling about everything under the sun… 😉
