Guess the only country that doesn’t think food is a basic human right?

At a recent United Nations General Assembly, countries got to vote on whether humans have a right to food. Guess who said no? Why do so many people hate the USA? I guess this vote kind of sums it up for a lot of people. They are completely evil. How can you vote AGAINST the right to food? I really feel bad for the citizens of the USA(even though they vote these clowns in). evil-bushLets hope that country changes how it relates to the rest of the world with new leadership…

By a vote of 180 in favour to 1 against (United States) and no abstentions, the Committee also approved a resolution on the right to food, by which the Assembly would “consider it intolerable” that more than 6 million children still died every year from hunger-related illness before their fifth birthday, and that the number of undernourished people had grown to about 923 million worldwide, at the same time that the planet could produce enough food to feed 12 billion people, or twice the world’s present population. (See Annex III.)

$700 Billion Bailout Celebrated With Lavish $800 Billion Executive Party

All these bailout packages are pathetic. Why should taxpayers bail out these companies, allow the shareholders to keep the gains, and tax the loss to everyone else?
If the government is going to bail out the car/insurance companies and fledgling banks, then nationalize the industries, and make the taxpayer the beneficiary of the profits to be gained later on.

At least the Onion keeps me sane with stories like the following in times like these!

Adding to the humour for the day is the top 10 list from David Letterman on the top 10 George Bush moments during his presidency…Man, the locked door video made me piss my pants!

Size 10 shoes thrown at Bush by Journalist

This journalist will be a hero in Iraq! He took off his shoes and threw them at George W Bush. It is considered an ultimate insult. That takes balls. Bush’s answer to the question after is even more entertaining. This is something that he doesn’t have a problem with? This is something that can be done in a free country? WTF?

After watching this video a couple of times, I think that it was set up. It took quite some time before the men in black came out of the wings…I think Dubya is looking for some sympathy in his final hour. 😉 This made my day…

Here is the Al-Jazeera post of the action.

And I just found this GIF! Funny stuff.

1950s pinup model Bettie Page dies in LA at 85

I don’t post too many articles on celebrities, and their deaths, but I thought that some of my readers are into alternative things and may have missed this one…

Bettie Page, the famous pin-up model that lightened up the prudish 50’s with her sexy pin-up photos died yesterday. I was introduced to her by taking a peak at my dad’s Playboys(she was one of the first in Playboy), and later in the 90’s a lot of the cartoon art in the sleeves of CD’s were based on her pin-up “look”. All good…

She lived two distinct lives. The beginning of her life, she did all her modelling, got into hot water for being immoral, became an icon of women’s sexuality, and that nudity is natural. The later part of her life, she found god, and became born again(bummer). At least up to the end, she was never regretful in having posed nude. She was an icon of modern open minded society…I will celebrate her life by wearing my Bettie Page t-shirt to the staff party tonight. Should go over well… 😉

The Big Three Taking our Money

The US car companies have been putting out crappy cars for years, and are now asking for the governments to help them out! This is in Canada and the USA. So, when I saw this tongue in cheek ad, I just had to post it! It is so true…

This is a graphic of the Standard and Poor’s stock index’s annual returns, placing every year since 1825 in a column of returns from -50% to +60%. As you can see, it is a rough bell curve, with 45 of those 185 years falling in the +0-10% column. There are only 5 years each in the 40-50% and 50-60% return columns, and, through 2007, there were only one year each in the -31-40% and -41-50% columns. You can see where 2008 to date falls. – reposted from
