Happy Monday! Enjoy the following Pics!

Now that George W Bush is out of power, it seems to me like the news is boring. I am working on a posting about some recent financial shenanagins. You can expect that in a couple of days. In the meantime, here ya go!
Good to see cectic.com out with a new comic!

Microsoft Makes a Fool of Themselves While Defending Return to DRM

I love listening to Microsoft’s lame comments and announcements. It is no wonder that Apple and Linux distros are making great headway in the PC market! I swore that this article on defending a return to DRM must have been posted by The Onion, or on April Fool’s Day.

Sadly for Microsoft, it is a reality that they are out of touch with the digital age…I love the first question and the immediate response! “Question: Why has Microsoft gone back to DRM when the vast majority of music services have ditched it?” “Answer: It’s a first step.” HAAAAAAAA!!!Good one…Click below for the remainder of this hilarious article.

Apple releases a Fabulous new Laptop!!!

Have you heard me say before, “I love the Onion!”? Of course you have. Here is a funny video by them at the perfect time…The yearly Macworld event that most Apple fans can’t wait for.

Microsoft’s Evil Plan.

I can’t stand Microsoft. I hated them for years when I was a Windows user, and seeing this story, validates my angst!

If you want a future without the bad kid on the block, go grab a FREE copy of Ubuntu. evileditionIt will do almost everything Windows can do(and better), without trying to get every last cent out of you…

And for you Apple readers, Ubuntu works for you too!

Microsoft’s vision of your computing future is on display in its just-published patent application for the Metered Pay-As-You-Go Computing Experience. The plan, as Microsoft explains it, involves charging students $1.15 an hour to do their homework, making an Office bundle available for $1/hour, and billing gamers $1.25 for each hour of fun.

[From Slashdot | Microsoft Invents $1.15/Hour Homework Fee For Kids]

I love the part that this will be good for users! Nice. I would love to pay per minute to use my computer. What fun… ๐Ÿ™‚

The Simpsons and ‘M’Apple.

I have been an Apple user for about 4 years now, and have been an advocate for switching very shortly there after. I am even part of a local Mac User Group. Very nerdy…Though the OS is quite a bit better than Windows, their machines look great, they aren’t hit with viruses and Malware etc…, there are a few things that bug me about Apple. Their insistence on using DRM(digital rights management), the need to run iTunes to make iPods functional, and not allowing users to be able to transfer music from their iPods to other machines they own. Apple has crappy support for Linux as well. There is a whole culture around Apple, known as the Cult of Mac.

The Simpsons tackle a whole bunch of Apple-isms in one of their latest episodes. So, I will add my bit of trolling, and post a couple of parts for you. More than likely they will get taken down by Youtube, so watch them while you can!

Got to love the Simpsons. They never get old!

How Much Should You Expose Your Children to Church?

Over at friendlyatheist.com, Hemant Mehta asks the question, “How Much Should You Expose Your Children to Church?” He references a blog that talks about how to make your child a free thinker.

Where one needs to draw the line is taking your child to a day care/preschool held in a church. Children are very impressionable at that young age, and don’t understand how many things in the world work. If the answer given to them is simplistic, like “god made it”, it is easy to understand, but is simply wrong. You may end up raising a Christian if you are not careful!

Keep your children away from churches at all costs! It is brainwashing, simply put. My old day-care provider tried to brainwash my kid as well, and I got rid of her right away(click here for the story). Once you are an adult, fill you boots, but keep kids out of church.

[From Friendly Atheist ยป How Much Should You Expose Your Children to Church?]

What I propose? Expose your kids to science, and help them learn about critical thinking. If later on the kid becomes religious, then at least you have given them the ability to question others! Let them draw their own conclusions from their experiences. Don’t force religion down their throat.

I love learning and even better, getting that information free online. With the advent of iTunes U, you can go out and learn from some of the best schools on the planet! Even great courses on Evolution!

[From Apple – Education – iTunes U – Overview]

There are plenty of courses being shared via P2P as well. Here is a link to 58+ e-books you can download for free. There are some fantastic novels there!

If you don’t give kids an education, then one day they may end up working for CNN and posting the following fact…

I just love web sites that play on the success of others and either mock them, or provide great entertainment for the rest of us that aren’t quite as imaginative! Here is a really well designed site that will immediately be familiar to you!I must give credit to my friend Dave who brought it to my attention! It seems a little slow to run, but the demo video is fun to watch! Well done!
